Orphan as Comedy

Re-cutting the trailer and completely twisting its mood is a valuable exercise because it challenges the creator to recontextualize the original narrative, offering fresh perspectives and exploring the flexibility of storytelling. This creative transformation is a powerful art form that demonstrates how tone, pacing, and context can dramatically reshape the audience’s emotional experience. For this project, I have chosen to reimagine Orphan (2009) as a family drama that explores the emotional journey of adopting a child to heal the pain of losing one.
